The Eyeopener Report | Obama Says the "T" Word, Aug. 13, 2014

Source: corbettreport.com, boilingfrogspost.com

Language is the great tool of the tyrants. It always has been, and always will be. Patriots are expected to abide by a PATRIOT Act that destroys their Bill of Rights, support “surgical strikes” against “enemy combatants” by the Department of “Defense,” and cheer the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to those who wage war.

Find out more about the doublespeak that underpins our political unreality on this week's edition of The Eyeopener report.

Obama to Visit Saudi Arabia, Key Source of Funding for Growing Jihadi Militarism in Middle East, March 26, 2014

Source: democracynow.org

Despite Saudi Arabia's funding and arming of militants in Syria, Iraq and beyond, President Obama is set to visit the kingdom this week to meet with King Abdullah. It's the only Middle Eastern or Gulf nation on Obama's overseas itinerary. Many analysts say the conflict in Syria has grown into a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Saudi Arabia's links to jihadist groups go back decades. Fifteen of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers were Saudi. The 9/11 Commission report identified Saudi Arabia as the main source of al-Qaeda financing. And in 2010, WikiLeaks published U.S. diplomatic cables which identified Saudi Arabia as the world's largest source of funds for Islamist militant groups.

Members of Congress and human rights organizations have also been calling on Obama to address the kingdom's treatment of women, religious minorities and political activists. We are joined by Patrick Cockburn, Middle East correspondent for the Independent. Cockburn wrote the Independent's recent five-part series examining the resurgence of jihadists across the Middle East, "Al-Qa'ida's second act — Why the global 'war on terror' went wrong." -demcracynow.org

The Corbett Report | The Enemy of My Enemy, March 7, 2014

Source: corbettreport.com

We've seen the rollout of the MSM propaganda using over-the-top hyperbole and flat-out lies to try to demonize Russia in the lead up to the "new cold war." But is this just part of the dialectic, trying to get us to buy into one side or the other in a rigged game? Should we devolve into mere spectators choosing sides in a squabble between #TeamObama and #TeamPutin? Join us this week on The Corbett Report as we explore whether the enemy of our enemy is indeed our friend. -corbettreport.com

The Eyeopener Report | Anti-War Goes AWOL: Divide and Conquer in Action, February 4, 2014

Source: corbettreport.com, BoilingFrogsPost.com

After the election of Obama in 2008, the driving impetus of the anti-war movement evaporated. No longer did it matter that the wars, covert operations, military tribunals and prison torture camps were continuing.

In fact, it did not even matter that American military involvement escalated with the Obama handover, expanding into Pakistan and Yemen, involving more drone strikes and extrajudicial assassinations. This was, after all, a Democrat, and so many on the anti-war left were appeased. Groups like Veterans For Peace, which had so loudly and so admirably called for the impeachment of Bush for his participation in war crimes and atrocities have been happy to look the other way while "their guy" in the White House forwards the very same agenda. -corbettreport.com

"Dirty Wars" Filmmaker Jeremy Scahill on the "Drone President" & Obama's Whitewashing of NSA Spying, January 29, 2014

Source: democracynow.org

In his State of the Union address, President Obama called on the United States to "move off a permanent war footing," citing his recent limits on the use of drones, his withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, and his effort to close the military prison at Guantánamo Bay. Obama also vowed to reform National Security Agency surveillance programs to ensure that "the privacy of ordinary people is not being violated."

Jeremy Scahill, whose Oscar-nominated film "Dirty Wars" tackles the U.S. drone war and targeted killings abroad, says Obama has been a "drone president" whose operations have killed large numbers of civilians. On NSA reform, Scahill says "the parameters of the debate in Washington are: should we figure out a way to streamline this and sell it to the American people, or should we do more surveillance?" -democracynow.org

RT | Syria welcomes Russia's call to handover chemical weapons, September 9, 2013

Source: RT.com

Syria has agreed to Russia's proposal that it put its chemical-weapon stockpiles under international control. US Secretary of State John Kerry initially suggested such a scheme - as a way to avoid a military strike on Syria. The US State Department, though, has since issued an apparent retraction, saying it wasn't a genuine offer. -RT.com

More than a thousand protesters in London chanted "Hands off Syria" - that was before Obama left no doubt that the country will be target. There were similar scenes in Germany - close to the same amount of anti-war activists there said only a sovereign and independent Syria, free of foreign interference would make peace possible. And that sentiment was echoed in Paris - while supporters of Syria were out in force in Turkey too. Pepe Escobar, an Asia Times roving Correspondent who's covered the Syrian conflict since it began almost two and a half years ago, joins RT to talk about Obama's announcement on Syria.-RT.com

As Strikes on Syria Loom, Is U.S. Ignoring a Diplomatic Track That Could Prevent More Violence? , August 28, 2013

Source: democracynow.org

Britain is set to introduce a United Nations Security Council resolution authorizing military action in Syria as the United States and allies gear up for expected strikes on the Assad regime. The resolution condemns the Syrian government for allegedly using chemical weapons and authorizes "necessary measures for protecting civilians." Russia and China are expected to issue a veto, raising the prospect that a U.S.-led bombing could come through NATO.

The Obama administration says military action in Syria would be aimed at responding to chemical attacks, not seeking regime change, but critics say similar claims were made at the outset of the NATO intervention in Libya. "There is no military solution," says Phyllis Bennis of the Institute for Policy Studies. "Extra assaults from the United States are going to make the situation worse, put Syrian civilians at greater risk, and not provide protection." -democracynow.org

The EyeOpener Report | Obama's War on Whistleblowers (and what to do about it), July 2, 2013

Source: corbettreport.com, boilingfrogspost.com

The gulf that exists between the Obama of the campaign trail and Obama’s actions since taking office has been glaringly obvious since the very beginning of his presidency, from his promise to close Guantanamo to his promise not to employ lobbyists to his promise to increase governmental transparency; there have been no shortage of examples of Obama’s duplicity. Until recently, however, his arch defenders have merely covered their eyes and pretended not to see these glaring hypocrisies, decrying his opponents as racist and Obama as a well-meaning president who has been hampered by Republican interference.

One of the clearest and most remarkable signs that Obama was not what he claimed to be has always been the war on whistleblowers his administration has been waging since the moment he took office. This war, unprecedented in scale or scope in the history of the United States, has been waged quietly for years, apparently out of sight of the fawning media and Obama-supporting Democrats.

Join us for this week’s EyeOpener Report to examine Obama’s ruthless and belligerent war waged against whistleblowers and truth-tellers, and find out what to do about it. -corbettreport.com

Lyndon LaRouche | Our Current President is Leading Us Toward Thermonuclear War, October 2, 2012

Source: oneradionetwork.com, larouchepac.com

The unique role of Lyndon LaRouche in the past decades has been to warn that this collapse is systemic. Already in the late 60's and 70's he warned of the inevitability of this current collapse, if certain fundamental changes were not made. At that time, he had demonstrated that what we would see is the result of an inherently faulty system, a system of fake money, deindustrialization, and a degenerate view of mankind. Since then, LaRouche has incessantly continued to warn about, and fought to reverse, this trend by proposing and organizing viable policies worldwide.

Mr. LaRouche joined us this morning for an explosive interview on Obama, the threat of nuclear war and why the Queen of England reigns supreme. The first 5 minutes gets us thinking about the upcoming election and our current "impeachable" President. He has us wondering if buying a gas mask and heading for the closest cave may just be a good idea. Mr. LaRouche doesn't hold back, so fasten your seatbelt for this one. Enjoy! ~Patrick Timpone

Back In Time Series | The Men Behind Barack Obama

October, 2008–Especially in politics it is of the utmost importance to try to look behind the facade: who makes up the team of the presidential candidate? The future president of the United States of America is for a large part dependent on and being fed by his team of advisors and future cabinet members. Webster Tarpley wrote a book on the men and women behind presidential hopeful Barack Obama. He argues that there is more to Obama than his charismatic appearance and that some of his advisors pose a danger to the US and the world in case Obama might be elected to become the next US president. Whether Tarpleys view is correct for now is a matter of opinion and remains to be seen, but for the public debate it is relevant to take note of his facts and arguments. Therefor DeepJournal interviewed Webster Tarpley on the topic of his recently published book Obama, The Postmodern Coup,The Making of a Manchurian Candidate.

Webster Griffin Tarpley is an activist and historian best known for his George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography (1992), which has become an underground classic on the Internet. Tarpley has appeared on CNN Crossfire, Charlie Rose, talk radio, and cable access television across North America.
